Tmoblie advert
Denotation:
It shows a busy train station with people everywhere. Then music comes on through the speakers and only a handful of people start dancing but more people start to get engaged and start dancing too until almost everyone is dancing.
Connotation:
Tmobile are trying to show that they have the best network and that they everyone is dancing suggests that the might have the best service and probably are trying to show that all other networks aren't as good as Tmobile. Also when people see the Tmobile users happy it will make other people want to join their network because people are really happy with the service and network.
The key message is about bringng people together, about building a growing network of people. The flashmob is supposed to be fun and energetic and crosses the social boundaries of age, gender, ethnicity etc. in order to develop community and shared communication. EBI: You attempt to decode and unpick these sorts of messages to provide the level of detailed analysis to hit the highest marks. Use denotation and connotation, detailed description of mise-en-scene, representation and camera to develop this.
